Candidates were selected by the Alumni Association Board of Directors’ Awards Committee.

Alumnus of the Year
Roy M. Bell '76

Presented to alumni who distinguish themselves in their professional life and who embody the high ethical standards and commitment to community service that California Western seeks to instill in its graduates. One of our most distinguished graduates who played a central role in the foundation of the downtown campus, Bell continues to serve the school as trustee.

Outstanding Community Service
Drew A. Lautemann '09

Presented to alumni who demonstrate notable community, public, or humanitarian service. Lautemann serves the residents of San Diego through his work with the City Heights Community Law Project and A.I.M. for Law. He was recently elected to the California Western Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Rising Star
Melissa R. Bobrow '07

Presented to graduates of the past 10 years who make significant achievements and demonstrate a high level of community involvement. The owner of her own practice, Bobrow has tried five cases in state and federal court and provides pro bono work through the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Project. She was recently appointed to the White Collar Crime and Fourth Amendment committees of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
