Mere days after his story was featured on “60 Minutes” this past March, Banks joined the Atlanta Falcons as the team’s newest linebacker. He wore his “XONR8” sweatshirt in recognition of the role the law school project played in his pursuit of a dream. Days later, he and Professor Justin Brooks joined Whoopi Goldberg and Elizabeth Hasselbeck on “The View.”
“I can’t believe this is happening,” Banks says. “To lose it all and then to wake up one day and have it come back, it’s a very humbling, spiritual feeling. It’s something that you just don’t want to take for granted.”
